RecycleMania

RecycleMania is a yearly intercollegiate recycling competition held between nearly 200 colleges and universities. The program is meant to educate faculty, staff, and students nationwide about waste reduction.

RecycleMania emphasizes the 5R’s of waste reduction:

Refuse what you do not need.

Reduce what you do need.

Reuse what you consume.

Recycle what you cannot refuse, reduce or reuse.

Rot (compost) the rest.

Schools are ranked against each other based on recycling, composting, and landfill data in addition to the number of people who get involved with programs.
