Event Recycling

Zero Waste Event Request

A Zero Waste event is one in which 90% of the waste from the event is diverted from the landfill. This diversion can be achieved through reusing, recycling, donating leftover food, and composting any food that cannot be donated. For our Zero Waste events, we require compostable utensils and dishes. Most individually wrapped food items (condiments, chips, candy, ice cream, etc.) as well as styrofoam and aluminum foil cannot be recycled and will create significant challenges to making your event Zero Waste. Please keep this in mind when deciding on a caterer and ordering for your event.
  • We request at least 2 weeks notice in order to properly schedule and plan for zero waste events.
  • This helps us identify potential non-recyclable items from certain caterers such as Styrofoam, aluminum foil, etc.
  • If ordering from Aramark, compostable utensils, dishes, and cups are provided at no extra cost.
