Jay Price, Recycling Manager
Jay has been greening campus events since 2004, starting with zero-waste lunches as simple as pizza and soda where everything was consumed or recycled. He has coordinated events of 5000+ people and carried the trash away in one hand. He coordinates football game day recycling and all recycling and waste reduction activities. Austin Reynolds, Zero Waste Coordinator
Austin started with UT Recycling in August of 2016. He majored in International Relations and French at Tufts University. He founded a farmers market while teaching English in France, and he also worked on a farm in East Tennessee before coming to UT. His main goals on campus are to increase composting and donations to food pantries while increasing awareness of the extent and impact of food waste on campus. Austin also serves on the Committee for the Campus Environment, working to write a Zero Waste Policy for the University of Tennessee. In his spare time, Austin likes to run trails, hike mountains, and climb rocks.
Gage Bradford, Information and Operations Coordinator
Gage started with UT Recycling in November of 2016. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Communication. Gage has a passion for environmental sustainability and looks forward to helping UT excel in that area. He also serves on the Committee for the Campus environment, focusing on transportation for the climate action plan. His hobbies include soccer, basketball, and reading.
Jasmine Stefansky, Outreach Coordinator
Jasmine started working with UT Recycling in December of 2016. She majored in hydro-geology at Central Michigan University. In the past she has worked in water quality testing to ensure safe surface water and drinkable ground water. At UT, she hopes to build a more cohesive relationship between students on campus and the department of recycling. She’s also very interested in hiking and dogs, and hopes to spend a lot of time in the Smokies. Her favorite color is green.
Michelle Van Guilder, Outreach Coordinator
Michelle is the new AmeriCorps Outreach Coordinator for UT Recycling. She worked for us for a year as a student worker before she returned as an AmeriCorps member. Michelle is a 2017 University of Tennessee graduate with her primary focus in sustainability. Her goal with a sustainability degree is to travel to different areas and help universities and companies go zero waste! Michelle was member of the Pride of the Southland and has been involved with music since she was 11. In her spare time, she also enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, and video games!
Gary Moore, Outreach Coordinator
Gary started working in UT Recycling in August of 2017. He majored in Economics at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After spending a year traveling and doing community service in AmeriCorps NCCC, he gained a passion for environmental conservation. He hopes to work closely with students and staff in a collective effort to make UT a more sustainable campus.
Brandt Tate, Social Media/Website/Volunteer Outreach Coordinator
Brandt started working with UT Recycling in February of 2017. He is majoring in Environmental and Soil Sciences with a minor in Watershed here at UT. Brandt loves being involved with the community, campus, and world. He hopes to reach out to the students, faculty and staff at UT to educate them on the importance of recycling and the goals that we, here at UT Recycling, hope to achieve. Brandt loves being outdoors, painting, volunteering, dogs and traveling.
Drew Donegan, Graphic Designer
Drew started working with UT Recycling at the beginning of August 2016. He is majoring in Architecture and is pursuing a minor in Industrial Design. At UT Recycling, he is in charge of graphic design for various projects.
Adam Barbian, Operations & Requests
Adam started at UT Recycling in February 2017. He is a junior here at UT majoring in Physics-Astronomy. He works in general operations in the warehouse and requests around campus. Other than recycling, Adam loves fried foods, loud music, and traveling.
Natalie Guffey, Special Events Coordinator
Natalie started working with UT Recycling in February of 2017. She is majoring in Social Work and minoring in Religious Studies. At UT Recycling, she hopes to educate others on the importance of sustainable living. She intends on planning sustainable events and collaborating with campus groups to make as many events zero waste. Other than recycling, Natalie loves Spanish, plants, meditation, and dogs.
Garrett Woods, Information Specialist
Garrett is an undergrad student and he analyzes and compiles data on recyclable materials collected on campus as well as works on special projects for the department. He has worked at UT Recycling since Fall 2016. He is from Cleveland, Tennessee.
Zoe Norton, Residence Life Outreach Coordinator
Zoë started working with UT Recycling in August of 2017. She is a sophomore studying Supply Chain Management, with a minor in Sustainability. She loves being involved with campus organizations, in addition to volunteering in the Knoxville community. Zoë wants to let students know how they can make UT a sustainable campus, and promote the healthy habits of recycling and composting. Zoë enjoys live music, hiking, and playing with dogs.
Megan Henley, Athletics Coodinator
Megan started working at UT Recycling in October 2017. She is a junior majoring in Sociology with a criminology concentration, and intends to pursue either criminal defense or environmental law after undergrad. At UT Recycling, she hopes to help get fellow UT students to start recycling and having zero waste become everyone’s goal on this campus. Besides recycling, Megan is interested in hiking, music, and social justice.

Susan started working at UT Recycling in May of 2017. She has a degree in Global Studies and she is now pursuing a degree in Pre-Dental at UT. Susan’s long-term goals include becoming a dentist and promoting sustainability wherever she goes! Her favorite colors are blue and green, and she also loves to dance.

Ashleigh started working with UT Recycling in June 2017. She is a senior majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences with a minor in Forestry. At UT Recycling, she hopes to inspire others on campus to recycle and protect the environment. Her duties deal with assisting in administrative tasks that help UT Recycling run smoothly. Ashleigh loves being outside, drawing, animals, and traveling.
